No, ESPN’s John Buccigross didn’t break the NHL lottery. After last year’s disastrous performance by Kevin Weekes in the Columbus Blue Jackets, concerns were raised on Tuesday about another leak affecting this year’s lottery.
However, unlike what happened last year, revealing the entire system in advance will not harm the viewers, it will raise serious doubts about the validity of the lottery system itself.

In fact, the “stop” in question came from ESPN’s John Buccigross who tweeted – and quickly deleted – an image that revealed a possible formula for Tuesday’s lottery.
The image, which appears to have been taken during rehearsals before 5:45 p.m. The ET chart shows all options in reverse.
Unfortunately, although the tweet was deleted, the Internet and social media do not forget anything – and these screenshots quickly spread on X (formerly Twitter).
