A man who served 16 years in prison for a 2004 school shooting in upstate New York attacked a homeless sailor where he now works — and a successful TikTok update on recovery him.
Jon Romano, who is set to be released from prison in 2020, will serve his sentence again after being charged in the Aug. 29 in Albany, which left him with severe head and leg injuries, according to the Times Union.

Romano, 34, shared the tragic news last week in the first of a series of nine TikToks recorded from his hospital bed, running through a range of emotions from despair to optimism.
He said the attack began when he met a man eating lunch with the homeless. a refuge for the use of racist language.
The assailant, who had two swords on him, “caught me on the stairs and knocked me down while I was lying on the stairs,” Romano recalled.
