Witnesses reported that the deadly Big Apple sightseeing helicopter broke apart in midair as it plummeted into the Hudson River on Thursday, as captured on terrifying video.
Video taken by a bystander and acquired by The Post reveals that the tourist aircraft quickly plunged into the cold waters, creating a large splash at approximately 3:20 p.m.
According to law enforcement authorities who spoke to ABC News, the collision claimed the lives of Agustin Escobar, a Siemens executive from Barcelona, Spain, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, and their children, ages 4, 5, and 11.Six individuals were murdered, including the 36-year-old pilot.
The helicopter was flown by New York Helicopters, according to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
