South Bend Washington High School and Notre Dame girls basketball player Skylar Diggins-Smith signed with the WNBA’s Seattle Storm on Thursday, making it the third stop in her 10-year professional career work so far.
Diggins-Smith is a six-time WNBA All-Star, starting her career in 2013 in Tulsa before the franchise moved to Dallas. He signed with Phoenix Mercury, where he has been playing since 2020.
She did not play in the 2019 or 2023 season due to maternity leave. For his career, Diggins-Smith averaged 16.7 points, 5.0 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.
She has only made one deep playoff run during her time in the WNBA, reaching the Finals in 2021 with the Mercury before losing to the Chicago Sky.
