Adam Ruzicka contract after controversial social media video The Arizona Coyotes are looking to terminate the player’s recently acquired contract for the second time in less than eight months.
The Coyotes announced Friday that they are giving Adam Ruzicka a non-negotiable waiver in an effort to end his contract.
The Associated Press reported that the move followed a social media post in which Ruzicka showed her with white powder on a credit card and plate.
Ruzicka, 24, was rescued from the chaos in the Calgary fire on Jan. 25 and played three games for the Coyotes this month.
The 2017 fourth-round pick has 40 points in 117 career games. The Coyotes terminated Alex Galchenyuk’s contract shortly after he signed him as a free agent on July 1.
He was arrested on July 9 for hitting and running. and immorality, and other charges. The police report alleges that he made threatening comments to the police.
Galchenyuk apologized, entered the NHL/NHLPA relief program and is currently playing in Russia.
Ruzicka will become the second NHL player to have his contract terminated during the 2023-24 season.
