Tya Posley Arrested for Slapping Her 1 Year Old Child On Live Video.
Sanford Police were contacted on the morning of April 26, 2022, of a troubling video that had been released overnight on social media, depicting an adult female striking an infant.
Officers were able to identify the infant and adult in the video and performed a well-being check at their apartment at the Windchase Apartment complex.
Officers were able to find both the infant and Tya Posley, the adult female.

Posley was identified as the individual who struck the infant in the video throughout the investigation. Child Protective Services took the child away from Posley’s care.
Posley was detained and charged with one count of Child Cruelty/Abuse.
She was being jailed by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department on allegations of child abuse that did not result in serious bodily damage.
She was granted bail of $2,000.00 and is due back in court on June 7.
