Mikayla Raines was a 29-year-old American wildlife rehabilitator and YouTube star known for her passionate animal rescue work, especially with foxes.

She founded SaveAFox Rescue, a nonprofit focused on rescuing foxes from fur farms and other harmful situations, successfully saving over 150 foxes and gaining millions of followers on social media through her advocacy.

Tragically, Mikayla died by suicide in June 2025. Her husband, Ethan Raines, revealed she struggled with mental health issues including depression, autism, and borderline personality disorder, and faced relentless online bullying, including from people she once trusted.
Despite years of therapy and medication, she found daily life and emotional regulation very difficult. Her death has sparked widespread discussion about cyberbullying and mental health awareness.

Mikayla’s last social media posts showed her deep love for animals, including playful moments with a lemur, reflecting her lifelong dedication to animal welfare. Her husband described her as altruistic and devoted, emphasizing she was never motivated by fame or money but by compassion for animals.
