Terry Rozier was arrested on October 23, 2025, as part of an FBI investigation into illegal sports betting. The investigation revealed that Rozier was involved in a gambling scheme where suspicious betting activity centered on his performance statistics during a March 23, 2023, NBA game between the Charlotte Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans.

A surge of bets was placed on the “under” for his points, rebounds, and assists, leading sportsbooks to halt betting on those props. Rozier played only 10 minutes in that game and left citing a foot injury, which is alleged to have been faked in connection with the gambling scheme.

The winnings from the prop bets were reportedly delivered to Rozier’s home. This case is linked to a larger sports betting scandal involving other NBA players and conspirators, including a former Toronto Raptors player banned for similar gambling-related offenses. Rozier is one of six people charged in this case
