Sha’Carri LaNay Richardson, born March 25, 2000, is an American track and field sprinter specializing in the 100 meters and 200 meters events.

She rose to prominence in 2019 as a freshman at Louisiana State University by breaking the 100m collegiate record with a time of 10.75 seconds, ranking her among the ten fastest women historically at just 19 years old.
In 2021, she advanced to become the sixth-fastest woman ever over 100m, running 10.72 seconds, which also made her the fourth-fastest American woman in history.

She qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but was later disqualified for testing positive for cannabis, resulting in a one-month suspension.
Richardson bounced back strongly, winning the US national 100m title in 2023 and became the world champion at the 2023 World Athletics Championships with a championship record of 10.65 seconds.
She also won gold in the 4x100m relay. In the 2024 Paris Olympics, she claimed a silver medal in the 100m and gold in the 4x100m relay.
