The video featured captions such as “Guess the substance” and “Are patients allowed to leave you guys gifts?” which caused widespread public outrage.
The video was posted by a former employee who left in July 2025. Following the incident, all current employees involved in the video were put on administrative leave and then fired by Sutter Health, the parent organization managing Sansum Clinic.
The clinic and Sutter Health condemned the behavior as deeply disrespectful and a violation of their policies, emphasizing that protecting patient trust and dignity is a top priority.
