Friends, supporters remember slain Indianapolis activist Ron Gee. The 39-year-old founder of Cease Fire Indy was shot and killed around 11 a.m.
Thursday near 38th Street and North Arlington Avenue. Community activists mourn the death of a 39-year-old man who gave his life to end violence in Indianapolis.
“Foreigners do not exist. We are all family. So when you look at that, I think it’s going to be hard for you to shoot your brother, your sister, your uncle,” Ron Gee said in a 2022 interview.
Gee was shot and killed in his car near East 38th Street and North Arlington Avenue on the city’s east side.
I hope it feels like a dream that I’m waking up, but I’m getting up. here but I know that’s not the case,” said Antonio Patton, an anti-violence activist and friend of Gee.
