Oswaldo Cabrera, the New York Yankees third baseman, suffered a serious left leg injury during the ninth inning of a game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on May 12, 2025.
The injury occurred as Cabrera was scoring on an Aaron Judge sacrifice fly. While trying to avoid a tag at home plate, Cabrera’s left ankle buckled under his momentum, appearing to snap on the field.
He managed to touch home plate but remained on the ground in pain. Trainers from both teams rushed to his aid, and after assessment, Cabrera was taken off the field on a stretcher and transported by ambulance to a hospital for further treatment.
