Balin Miller was a 23-year-old acclaimed climber from Alaska who tragically died after a fall from Yosemite’s El Capitan in October 2025.

Known online as the “Orange Tent Guy,” he was livestreaming his ascent on TikTok when the fatal accident occurred. Miller was lead rope soloing on a 2,400-foot route called Sea of Dreams, and he fell while rappelling after completing the climb.
He was highly respected for his daring solo climbs and notable achievements, including a solo ascent of Mount McKinley’s Slovak Direct and climbing difficult routes in 2Canada and Patagonia.

His death marked the third fatality in Yosemite that summer and deeply impacted the climbing community worldwide ����.
