While we can’t know for sure if Aiyuk is talking about the 49ers not wanting him for this season or after his franchise year expires in 2024, their offseason was filled with controversy as he sought a contract extension.
His teammate, tight end George Kittle, also told Fox News Digital this offseason that the team should want to keep Aiyuk.
Deebo Samuel, who said during minicamp that he talked to Aiyuk, signed a 2022 extension.
However, he asked for a trade deal when negotiations broke down and an agreement was reached only after the line was crossed.
